I work in construction and just recently took over title of inventory management. There is no previous organization and no program in place. I am looking to a software program that will help me track what kind of hardware we have and where on which job in what city it is located? Any suggestions

We use a CMMS software, but it is ran poorly. Any tips on streamlining the process would be greatly appreciated. Specifically tips on inventory storage; pda usage with tracking inventory; barcode systems with tracking inventory; RFIDs with tracking inventory; personal experience with inventory. Order of operation, flow chart, anything would be helpful, especially a web site link to an explanation of inventory and logistics. THANK YOU!

I would enjoy doing this because I did it for an organization for awhile. It is scanning and tracking fixed assets inventory (large, expensive items such as computers, etc.) You scan them, barcode them, load the data in the software and track it with data and financial data. It seems hard to market though since I don't know anyone.

I'm a small biz owner and I'm looking for something that will track inventory of parts and finished products. I'm currently using Quickbooks Pro for accounting but they are very limited on the inventory tracking. I've looked at using Access templates to create a db and maintain inventory there, but it would be nice to all it all in one place. I need to be able to build a product and have the parts inventory deducted as I do so.

I am setting up spreadsheet to track inventory of sales kits, the kits are made up of a # of different components, as a kit is put together; want current inventory on hand of each component to be updated as well. Any help would be appreciated.
