Have you ever wondered if offering lay-away plans for your consumers would be beneficial for you? Other retail stores do this already so why don't you? The key to having this work if for you to have an inventory software that could help you keep track of everything that you have in your inventory and what are the things that are still in your stock room. This marketing strategy will only work if you have an inventory control in place in your store.
Even if you don't have any plans of offering lay-aways or even any kind of reward system for your store, you still must have a complete rein in your inventory control. Knowing what is still in stock and what items are selling like hot potatoes will give you an idea of what to order and re-order.
If inventory control is done manually, then this will prove to be a very challenging work. You simply can't just go to the back room and count everything for yourself. If you manager a small store, then this could be possible. But even then it is a small store, it is still close to impossible to keep tabs of every single product that you have, thus the need for an inventory software in your POS.
Lay-aways are a good come on for your customer especially with the kind of economy that everybody is experiencing nowadays. It is a wise move for you as a store manager to have this kind of promotion in your store. Surely you carry products that are of good quality but may have steep prices as well. And the only thing that could help you sell these products would be to offer them on lay-away.
This way, you get to dispose of your products and your customers get to buy it for themselves. The faster you dispose of stocks the faster the turn around. You get to offer new things that would encourage buyers to buy some more. Don't worry about keeping an eye on the products because with the help of your inventory software keeping track of your inventory is simple and easy.
